On Friday, October 24, Enjovu eLearning, in partnership with I&M Bank, hosted the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, training workshop for School Head Teachers, at the Enterprise Uganda BDS Centre of Excellence in Butabika, Kampala.
The workshop aimed to familiarise educators with Artificial Intelligence and foster an appreciation that encourages exploration.
The training attracted participants from both primary and secondary schools, that took part in engaging learning sessions focused on how to leverage AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude in their daily practice, exploring ways to automate various school tasks through AIto enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Esther Mutizo, Team Lead at Enjovu eLearning emphasized the potential of AI to enhance learning and streamline school tasks.
“You need to be curious and use the right prompts. The more you keep using it, the better you’ll get at it. AI can help by personalizing lessons, offering instant tutoring, and providing interactive tools, while also streamlining school tasks like grading, scheduling, and lesson planning,” she said.
Sandy Boreal, Head of High School at Cambridge Kabojja International School, explained that AI has positively changed the education sector.
“AI in the classroom gives teachers time to engage with students and reduces paperwork. It doesn’t make teachers less human; rather, it allows them to focus on the human side of teaching, while ensuring processes run smoothly,” she said, adding that; “AI should be used as a tool, not a replacement.”
Samson Maraka, Head of Voice Services at Airtel Uganda, urged educators to exercise caution when using AI in schools. He emphasized that no AI tool is completely error-free, and highlighted the importance of balancing innovation with responsibility.
“AI can enhance learning, but adoption must be thoughtful, with a strong focus on students’ safety and data privacy. Tools should support teaching, not replace human judgment,” he said.

I&M Bank, known for its many digital innovations, continues to support initiatives that advance education, while also offering plans that enable parents and guardians to gradually save for their children’s future education.
“We are proud to partner with Enjovu eLearning on this initiative, as it aligns with our commitment to leveraging technology to empower communities. By supporting educators to explore AI tools, we hope to enhance teaching efficiency, improve administrative processes, and ultimately contribute to better learning outcomes for students,” said Annette Nakiyaga, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank.
As schools continue to explore the potential of AI, workshops like these demonstrate that technology can be a powerful ally in enhancing learning and easing administrative burdens.
