Media personality Anitah Fabiola has spoken out about her struggle with postpartum depression and anxiety following the birth of her twins with husband Mark Mubiru in June.

For starters, Postpartum depression (PPD) is a serious mental health condition involving intense sadness, anxiety, and tiredness after a baby is born.

In an emotional video shared on her social media platforms, Fabiola described the last eight months as “the most life-changing period” of her life — a time filled with both immense joy and unexpected challenges.

“Becoming a twin mum has changed everything,” she shared. “This is the most honest and vulnerable I’ve ever been on camera. From sleepless nights to precious moments of joy, I wanted to share my truth so that another mum out there feels seen and understood.”

Fabiola revealed that although her pregnancy and delivery went smoothly, nothing could have prepared her for the emotional turbulence that followed.

“I thought I had everything figured out. I had a plan, support from my husband, family, and nurses — but I still fell into postpartum depression. My recovery was long, painful, and filled with anxiety and guilt. There were days I could hardly function because I was constantly worried about my babies,” she confessed.

The former TV host explained that she deliberately kept her pregnancy and early motherhood journey private to protect her peace and adjust to the new chapter of her life.

“Some things are sacred,” she said. “I’m glad I kept that part of my life private. It allowed me the space to heal and find my footing as a new mum.”

Despite the struggles, Fabiola expressed deep gratitude for her family’s support and said motherhood has completely reshaped her outlook on life.

“My priorities have shifted. I love being a mum, but nothing on earth could have prepared me for postpartum. The anxiety and weight of it all were overwhelming,” she admitted.

Fabiola’s honesty has been met with widespread praise from fans and fellow mothers, who commend her for shedding light on an issue that many women face but rarely discuss openly.

Her closing message was heartfelt and empowering:

“To every mum out there — you are not alone.”
