Uganda’s U17 boys’ team booked their place in the FIFA U17 World Cup round of 16 after a gritty 1–0 victory over Senegal on Friday.

Abubakali Walusimbi produced the decisive moment of the match with a superb first-half strike, finishing off a swift Ugandan move to give the Cubs a crucial lead.

Senegal pressed relentlessly after the break, forcing Uganda into long spells of defending, but the young Cubs showed discipline and resilience to hold on until the final whistle.
