NBS news anchor Canary Mugume’s wife, Sasha Ferguson, has issued a strong response to Canary’s claim that he is a victim of abuse.

Sasha said she would not be intimidated by any attempts to discredit her, insisting that she has always stood by Canary despite repeated betrayal.

According to her, her decision to speak out is meant to protect the father of her children—someone she says is struggling with alcoholism and the pressures of fame. She emphasised that the situation is no longer about who is right or wrong, but about Canary’s wellbeing and the future of their children.

Sasha further claimed that Canary has been unable to see the children because acts of violence were directed toward them and towards her mother, whom he allegedly confronted at home while trying to take the children by force. She added that hotels they visited together have CCTV footage that can show the truth about who was violent.

She accused Canary of damaging the family they built and criticised him for allegedly manipulating public narratives to appear as the victim. Sasha also refuted claims that she abused him, saying such accusations began when she left the relationship. She recalled a painful moment while pregnant when she felt completely unsupported and wrongly labelled as violent.

Sasha ended her statement by urging Canary to seek help—both for his own sake and so he can eventually rebuild a relationship with his children.
