Dominic Musoke delivered a calm, confident and consistent performance to clinch the 5th Edition of the Equity Bank Uganda–Equity NARO Golf Open 2025, sealing victory with an impressive three-round total of 2-under-par 208.
Musoke’s campaign featured 14 birdies, six bogeys and two double bogeys. He set the pace with a solid opening-round 68, followed by back-to-back level-par 70s that comfortably secured his second Equity NARO Open title. His steady form earned him a commanding five-shot win over seasoned champion Joseph Chinyaai.

Chinyaai, who settled for second place, has been the standout player of the year, boasting eight major victories including the Kakira Open, Kinyara Open, Uganda Open, Uganda Ladies Open, President’s Cup and Entebbe Open.
Namulonge’s Charles Jjunju claimed third place, with Juma Abiti taking fourth. Defending champion Abdullah Kakooza endured a tough outing, finishing fifth with a 22-over-par total—13 strokes behind Musoke.
In the ladies’ competition, Meron Kyomugisha maintained her strong form from the Kinyara Open to claim the women’s title with a total score of 221. She dominated the category, beating second-placed Joyce Kisembo (238) by a commanding 17 shots. Resty Nalutaaya came third with 241, just ahead of Peace Kabasweka, who posted 242.
The annual championship, hosted at the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) Golf Course in Namulonge, is recognised as an Amateur World Golf Ranking (WAGR) event and continues to draw some of Uganda’s most promising golf talent.
