Equity Bank Uganda has rolled out a new digital banking platform, Equity Online for Business, replacing its older EazzyBiz system as the main tool for corporate and enterprise customers.

The bank said all business clients must immediately transition to the new platform to continue accessing its digital services. The launch was announced at an event held at the Protea Hotel, where Executive Director Claver Serumaga explained that the upgrade is designed to meet the growing demand for fast, integrated financial information in today’s business environment.

The new system brings multiple services into one place, allowing companies to handle payroll, supplier payments, and foreign exchange transactions on a single platform. It can be accessed via web browsers, a mobile app, and APIs that connect directly to a company’s accounting systems.

Among the key improvements are real-time tracking of funds across different currencies and automated transfers that help businesses manage excess balances more efficiently. Companies can also manage their own accounts internally, including assigning user roles and permissions, without having to rely on the bank.

On security, the platform uses multiple layers of protection such as one-time passwords and token-based verification. It also includes audit trails and dashboards that help businesses monitor transactions, reduce errors, and detect potential financial leakages.

Serumaga said the goal is to move beyond basic banking and offer businesses a complete financial management tool that supports faster and better decision-making.

To ensure a smooth transition, the bank has committed to providing training and technical support to help clients migrate to the new system.
