Victoria University has launched a free artificial intelligence (AI) training programme aimed at preparing students and graduates for an increasingly technology-driven job market.
The initiative is open to Senior Four and Senior Six leavers, as well as degree holders from all academic backgrounds. By offering the training at no cost, the university hopes to give learners an early advantage in a field that is fast becoming essential across nearly every profession.
Through the programme, participants will gain a clear understanding of what artificial intelligence is and how it is applied in real-world settings. The training will also explore how AI is reshaping different industries, while guiding learners on study and career options in an era where digital skills are critical.
According to the university, the goal is to help students remain relevant, adaptable and competitive as the job market continues to evolve.
In a statement, Victoria University said the free AI lectures will be conducted both online and in physical classrooms to ensure wider access. The university emphasised that its approach to education goes beyond awarding degrees, focusing instead on preparing learners for life and work in a changing world.
The programme reflects Victoria University’s broader commitment to future-ready education, with a strong focus on innovation, creativity and problem-solving. Participants will build foundational AI knowledge that is increasingly in demand among employers both in Uganda and globally.
Applications for the free AI training are now open, giving prospective students an opportunity to begin their academic and professional journey with in-demand skills. Interested applicants can find more information and apply through the university’s website at http://vu.ac.ug.
