During the festive season, vendors filled the streets as city authorities looked on helplessly. After the festivity has trickled down, KCCA law enforcement officers have resurrected to their duty.

The law enforcement officers have today morning demolished kiosks at container village and Owino market  in a bid to cut down on the congestion and get rid of vendors in the city.

The operation which kicked off earlier this morning has left a number of Kiosks pulled down. Despite earlier orders to vendors to vacate their kiosks they turned a deaf ear.

KCCA officers who spent the better part of this morning demolishing kiosks say the structures were illegal and unplanned, and the traders had been given notice to vacate.

Helpless vendors just looked on as the officers in their usual yellow shirts and black caps tore down their items of trade.

The presence of vendors has been contended on economic and political grounds with leaders taking different stands on the issue.
