Key suspect in the murder of UCU Director of Student Affairs Pamela Tumwebaze arrested; found in possession of the deceased’s property

The Joint Security Task Team investigating the murder of Tumwebaze Pamela, the Director of Student Affairs at Christian University (UCU), has arrested one of the key suspects, identified as Taewaiko Dak Hussein, in connection with the crime.

According to the police, the suspect was arrested today, February 14, 2026, at his hideout in Budaka District. It is reported that he was found in possession of the deceased’s property, a critical piece of evidence linking him to the murder. Preliminary findings further indicate that the suspect is a former house help to the deceased.

Tumwebaze, who will be laid to rest on Sunday in Mbarara, was found dead at her home in the early hours of February 11, 2026. She had reportedly been strangled at her residence in Guafu West Village, Seeta Ward, Goma Division, at about 2 am.
