A man has collapsed and died while loading groceries into his car near a busy market, in an incident that has sparked widespread concern on social media.
The deceased, identified as David Kitagenda Magezi, had just finished shopping when the tragedy occurred. Witnesses said he was placing the items into the boot of his silver Toyota Fielder (registration number UBK 765Y) when he suddenly fell to the ground and became unresponsive.
Footage shared online shows his body lying beside the vehicle with the boot still open and filled with groceries. Market vendors, motorcyclists and police officers are seen gathered along the muddy roadside, but no immediate medical assistance is visible in the video.
According to a man who recorded the clip, Magezi appeared to die instantly. Police later arrived at the scene and removed the body.
The incident has generated intense debate among Ugandans on social media, with many questioning the absence of emergency response. Some users criticised bystanders for filming instead of helping, while others called for wider public training in basic life-saving skills such as first aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
