If you say I’m not learned, allow everyone call you “ghost” — Pr Bugingo defends burning Bibles

Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer ministries has been in the spotlight yet again, this time, for something way too controversial. He recently told members of his congregation to set blaze Bibles that had the word “Holy Ghost” instead of “Holy spirit”.

He claims the word “ghost” is a negative spirit and should not be used in the Bible. However, many pastors came out and labelled him “unlearned fellow”.

“Before you bring out your academic credentials – literally – know this, a “Ghost” is a negative spirit. The word “Ghost” its self is negative. If you say Bugingo didn’t study, allow everyone to call you “Ghost” everywhere you are. Print and put on a T-shirt with words “I’m a Ghost”. We are not against any personality, we are preaching the gospel truth”, Ug Christian News reported.

According to the pastor he recommends King James Version.

“The true ones are available. I recommend King James, because it was the first version translated into different languages understood by several people. It does not contain these “ghosts”, he stated.

Among the Bibles burnt includes the popular Good News Bible.
