The Miss Uganda beauty pageant is on this Saturday, October, 25 at the Speke Resort in Munyonyo. Unlike past years where it was all about beauty, make up and catwalks, this year it is all about getting dirty as the Miss Uganda organisers partnered with the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), not to hit the front line, but to promote agriculture. The contestants instead of spending their time in boot camp learning how to catwalk, they have been in demonstration farms and agricultural institutes learning about soil PH, mulching and how to milk cows. 20 girls are contesting to take over the crown from Stella “Ellah” Nantumbwe who is currently contesting in the Big Brother Africa reality show.
