Diamond Platnumz beats Kenzo and Navio to Channel O Award

The Channel O Awards are on at Nasrec Expo Centre in Soweto, South Africa. Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo and Navio were nominated, in the most Gifted East African category, but Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has picked the award thanks to his Number One hit.

The other nominees in the East African category were Kenyan bands Sauti Sol and Elani.

Other winners are Buffalo Souljah  in the Most Gifted Ragga Dancehall for his song Turn Up and AKA IV for the Most Gifted Hip Hop video.

Kenzo didn’t bother to attend the awards and he is performing in New York.
