Thousands of friends and fans joined Harriet Kisakye’s family to pay last respects to the singer who was laid to rest on Monday afternoon.

The singer who passed away at 39 was buried in the cemetery of St. Gyaviira Catholic Church in Bunamwaya. She requested to be buried at the church while on her death bed.

Kisakye was born in 1976 in Kayunga Town Council, Wakiso District, to Charles Musisi and the late Lillian Namwangye.

She went to Nansana Primary School and St. Augustine College School Wakiso.

Kisakye joined the music industry in 2004, as a member of Pride Band, later moving on to Josam’s Band before she started her own Riders Band. She was popular for songs like Ekinigeria, Kandahar, Gyenvudde and Ebintu Tubirye.

She is survived by two children, Marvin Kiberu, 15 and Shakul Kawooya, 7.
