Lawrence Labeja who is part of Radio and Weasel’s management team was arrested on Thursday morning after music promoter Balaam Barugahare filed a case in which he accused Labeja of receiving Shs7m for the Goodlyfe duo to perform in Gulu, only for them not to show up.

Balaam had paid Labeja for the duo to perform at an event where President Yoweri Museveni was launching an NRM party membership registration exercise ahead of the 2016 presidential polls.

Mowzey Radio’s Neera is one of the songs to be used in the campaigns as President Museveni asks voters to give him another kisanja neera neera. Unfortunately the boys were a no show.

Labeja used to be Bobi Wine’s manager but they parted ways with Bobi accusing him of financial impropriety. He is now the business development manager in Radio and Weasel’s camp.

Musician Chagga who also happens to head Radio and Weasel’s management team went to Jinja Road Police and explained that one of the musicians was sick, as the reason they didn’t turn up for the show. He offered Balaam Shs4m but Balaam rejected the money saying he wanted Shs7m.

Labejja was released in the evening and he joined Radio and Weasel at the rehearsals for their concert that is on this Friday evening at Hotel Africana.
