Kenzo BET2Eddy Kenzo has touched down in Los Angeles ahead of the BET Awards that are taking place later tonight. Kenzo is nominated  in the Viewer’s Choice “Best International” Act category and he is the favourite to lift the trophy.

He is up against South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest, the United Kingdom’s MIC Lowry, George the Poet and Novelist and Ghana’s Mz Vee. The vote is entirely social media based and Kenzo looks good to bring it home, unless something unprecedented really happens, because he was leading in the public vote that was entirely social media based.

Kenzo is already in L.A.

“L.A Eddy is here turn up tonight ‪#‎BET‬ experience… kyabika nkya baganda bange.. Katusabe.God is involved,” posted upon landing in the US.

The Sitya Loss singer is nervous, “pressure zinkuba,” he said a few days earlier, but he believes he is bringing the award home.

Radio and Weasel are the only other Ugandans to ever land a BET nomination but they lost out to Nigeria’s Ice Prince in 2013.

The Awards will be held tonight in the US, which is the wee hours of Monday morning in Uganda. They will be broadcast simultaneously on BET 1 & BET 2 on Tuesday.
