Over the last few weeks, giant music concert organiser KT promotions has been working around the clock to have BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo and in-form fellow singer David Lutalo agree to a live concert battle sometime this year.
And reports coming from the corridors had seemed to indicate that KT promotions wasn’t far from getting the singers agreeing to the battle.

However, the latest we have is that there is a deadlock over the amount of money to be paid each of the two artistes, with Eddy Kenzo insisting that he will not battle unless the promoters pay him sh100m.

More word from the corridors indicates that the masterminds of the battle are now puzzled as whether to pay Kenzo his asking price and increase the planned ticket prices for the battle, or whether to simply pull off the battle plans. It is also reported that the organisers have thought of replacing Kenzo with another artiste like the Radio and Weasel, but most of the other artistes are high-risk business-wise because they participated in the controversial Tubonga Nawe project. Both Kenzo and Lutalo didn’t participate in the Tubonga Nawe project.
