Vice Chancellor stops Stella Nyanzi’s eviction from her Makerere office

We have already informed you that the news of Dr. Stella Nyanzi’s sacking from Makerere University was a false rumour originating from certain online news sites. That it was the result of some people misinterpreting Stella Nyanzi’s Facebook post earlier today, in which post she wrote about her boss ordering her to vacate her office without providing an alternative place to station.



Now we have acquired exclusive information indicating that courtesy of a letter from the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Stella Nyanzi is successfully holding on to her office.
Nyanzi was given the order to vacate office by her boss at the Institute of Social Research, Professor Mamdhani, on 4th April; with today April 15th as the deadline by which Nyanzi should have surrendered her office.

But upon receipt of the letter, the lecturer petitioned the university Vice Chancellor in a fight for her space, saying she hadn’t been given an alternative place to work and indicating the order was because of personal issues with her boss.
Resultantly, two days ago the Vice Chancellor wrote to Professor Mamdhani ordering him to first put on hold the eviction of Dr. Stella from her office.
We found both letters, the one ordering Nyanzi out of her office and the one ordering her to stay:
