Kayihura Supporters demostrating

Supporters of IGP Kale Kayihura crowded Makindye chief Magistrates’ Court and blocked entrance to the court.

In a protest against trial of the Inspector General of Police Kale Kayihura over brutality cases against Besigye supporters, Kayihura supporters appeared at the Chief Magistrates’ Court demonstrating with placards some of which had words that read ‘Kayihura is Blameless’, ‘Kayihura protects the future’.

Kayihura supporters engaged in a defiance demonstration and overpowered security.

Although General Kayihura together with other seven senior officers disregarded court summons, pressure around the court mounted as his supporters who were unruly made rounds about the Court premises while police inaudibly looked on them blocking entrance to the Chief Magistrate Richard Mafabi’s chambers.

Opposition figures have come out to say kayihura is a coward as his failure to attend court indicates he feared to come and explain to court why he supported police officers that persecuted innocent people.
