Cranes ladies bow out of CECAFA after semi-final loss to Tanzania

1st Semi-final: Kenya 3-2 Ethiopia

2nd Semi-final: Tanzania 4-1 Uganda

Uganda Crested Cranes bowed out of the 2016 CECAFA Women championship at the semi final stage. This was after falling 4-1 to Tanzania Kilimanjaro Queens in the second semi final played on Sunday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru, before a very passionate crowd.

Daniel Donisia, Omari Mwanahamisi, Abdalla Stuami and Rashid Asha scored the goals for the visitors.

Hasifa Nassuna was on target late in the game for the Uganda Crested Cranes consolation. This was Nassuna’s fifth goal of the tournament, taking her top of the top scorers’ chart.

In the first match of the day, Kenya overcame Ethiopia 3-2 in a very exciting match.

Uganda Crested Cranes head coach Majidah Nantanda appreciated the effort of the players thus far and called for focus ahead of the third place match.
