Today SC Vipers through club president Lawrence Mulindwa have named their former assistant coach Richard Wasswa as their interim head coach at the club.

Wasswa served as an assistant to Edward Golola during the 2014/15 season which saw Vipers winning the league title that very season. Though afterwards they were sacked and replaced by George ‘Best’ Nsimbe.

On return as the head coach, Wasswa will make his debut against The Saints FC on away in Bombo on Tuesday before facing Soana FC on the weekend a fixture that will conclude the first round of their league fixtures. SC Vipers are currently placed 5thon the Azam UPL, 11 points off table leaders, KCCA FC.

Wasswa’s appointment has come after SC Villa defeated Vipers 2:1 on weekend, this prompted club official to cancel contracts of its three head coaches Abudullah Mubiru, his assistant John Luyinda and George Nsimbe.
