Police blocks Besigye  from Mumbere court hearing, case adjourned

Kizza Besigye and Winnie Kizza were denied access to the courtroom

FDC’s Dr Kizza Besigye was denied access to Jinja Magistrate Court where Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere was being tried. Besigye was one of his sureties.



There was a standoff between police and opposition politicians like Dr Kizza Besigye and the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Winnie Kiiza who were denied access to the courtroom. The case has been adjourned till December 28th

It is alleged that on March 24 this year, Charles Wesley Mumbere and others still at large, at FFU Detach in Kidodo cell Central Division, Kasese Municipality, Kasese District murdered Geoffrey Kasimba.

He was arrested after security forces attacked his palace in an operation that claimed 60 royal guards and 14 police officers. 136 royal guards were arrested and are being detained at different points.

On Friday last week, one of the Royal Guards identified as Bosco Mbusa Bwambale ,30, a resident of Lhuhwahwa village, Kajwanga Parish, Kisanga sub-county in Kasese District succumbed to injuries.

Besigye was taken to unknown destination.

Mumbere is battling murder and terrorism charges.
