Relatives and friends of Ivan Semwanga in South Africa held a vigil at his Pretoria home last night, comforting Zari Hassan the mother of his three boys and the children.

The South African based socialite, businessman and philanthropist passed away on Thursday after spending 12 days in coma, following an operation.

Though Zari and Ivan had separated as she is currently in a relationship with Tanzanian musician Diamond Platnumz with whom she has sired two more children, Zari was by Ivan’s bedside when he was taken ill and she has stayed with her boys in Ivan’s house as they mourn their late dad. Unfortunately, some of Ivan’s relatives have seen this gesture as a ploy for Zari to “grab” Ivan’s property.

There was a requiem service at St. Micheal & Angels Church in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.

The body is expected to arrive in the country tomorrow afternoon and a vigil will be held at his Muyenga mansion.

There will be a funeral service at Namirembe Cathedral on Monday morning and another vigil will be held at his ancestral home in Kayunga, before he is laid to rest on Tuesday.

May his soul rest in peace.
