Jack Pemba all smiles after the procedure.

There a few things money can’t buy and a set of perfect white teeth isn’t one of them. Socialite Jack Pemba has just blown $5,000 (Shs18m) on dental procedure in a Dubai clinic just for the perfect smile.

Pemba underwent the lumineer procedure at Al Ibtesama Al Jathaba Dental Clinic in Dubai. The businessman says he did the procedure just to have a perfect smile for the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards slated for December 8. Pemba bankrolled the awards with Shs100m and bought a Ciroc bottle for every table at last week’s nominees’ party.

Though Pemba says he spent the money to look good at the awards, lumineers last about 20 years.

What are lumineers?

Lumineers are unique ultra-thin (approximately 0.2 mm) and highly translucent, molds that replicate the natural appearance of enamel.

The Lumineers procedure is a completely pain-free way to reshape and permanently whiten one’s teeth. Once the procedure is completed, there is no post placement discomfort or sensitivity, which means Lumineers will look natural and feel comfortable from the moment they are placed.

The Lumineers procedure

On the first visit, your dentist will create a precise mold. Then you and your dentist will determine the shade of white that is right for you. After your first visit, your dentist will send the mold off to a lab for your custom Lumineers to be created. When your dentist receives your custom Lumineers, they are checked for fit and shade. Then during your second visit, your Lumineers are painlessly applied without shots or drilling of sensitive tooth structure. And you’re ready to start smiling.
