Over the weekend, Police in Rakai district ordered a promoter to pull down posters that were advertising singer cum legislator Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine as headliner at a concert slated for this Saturday.

According to sources close to the promoter- only identified as Kayiwa, the Police boss in the area called him and advised him to either print new posters and exclude Bobi Wine, or simply pull down all the posters. Kayiwa initially protested but eventually complied, incurring an extra cost of printing and pinning the new posters over the weekend.

However, unconfirmed reports indicate Bobi Wine has vowed to honour his contract by travelling to Rakai and performing. Expect some ‘fireworks’. A few week ago, a concert that Bobi was slated to headline in Kiryandongo was violently halted by heavily armed police and his hotel room was sealed off by the cops. Let’s see how this goes!
