Oulanya emphasized that Africans have to work for their the success of the own continent in order to become competitive and self-reliant both politically and economically.

“I laugh at people who think these imperialists are here to help Africa. The “people” we have dealt with have diluted everything including our natural resources but haven’t diluted our poverty.”

Oulanya added that it is time Uganda revised her commitment to the Washington Consensus to brought about the massive privatization of state resources.

“The West has retained a leadership role in keeping Africa poor while depleting anything that would make Africa self-sustainable. We need to reposition Africa because the position has already been done by other people,” he added.
