Hardly a week after Gen. Mugisha Muntu announced his exit from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party and the creation of his “New Formation,” the party has already released a plan to purge all his loyalists.

According to letters that Matooke Republic has seen, FDC Secretary General, Nandala Mafabi has ordered the evacuation of FDC offices by members aligned to Gen. Muntu and ordered them to handover offices by October 4.

Mafabi has also ordered a countrywide party membership audit to verify which members are staying within the party and who are joining Muntu’s New Formation.

“This is to request all party leaders and elected officials on the party mandate to indicate to the party, in writing, whether they are still members of the FDC within 14 days.”

The letter authored by Mafabi adds that “Non-response will be treated as renouncement of membership.”
