Disaster has struck in the hilly Eastern Uganda district in Bududa after heavy rains caused landslides that have according to an eyewitness washed down five villages in Bukalasi Sub-county – including a school – Sume Junior School.

According to Eric Mukhwana, a resident of Mbale, over 200 people are feared dead as the landslide swept five villages in the same parish on Thursday afternoon.
