With various political players weighing in on Forum for Democratic Change’s (FDC) boycott of the Inter-Party Organisations for Dialogue (IPOD) summit held yesterday at the Commonwealth Resort in
Munyonyo.

Aruu County Member Of Parliament, Hon Odonga Otto has
slammed his party for shying from the summit.

Odonga Otto says it was the best platform for FDC President Patrick
Amuriat to directly tell Museveni about the recent bans police has put
to their rallies.

“It would have been right for POA to go and tell President Museveni
directly when the whole world is listening that FDC rallies have been
blocked,” Otto stated.

He further reveals that the decision taken by FDC was fully influenced
by former party president Dr Kiiza Besigye.

“The kind of politics FDC is playing is typical to Besigye’s kind of politics.
Besigye is having a lot of influence on Hon Amuriat’s politics,” he said.

However, according to the FDC spokesman and Kiira Municipality MP
Ssemujju Nganda, the party foresighted that the summit will not be any
different from the many interactions they have had overtime.

Ssemujju says Museveni always appears in such meetings like a ‘statesman.’

The Kiira Municipality MP also added that though they have no
hard feelings for those who made it to the IPOD, the only achievement
they got was a photo opportunity with the President.
