Muhangi’s eldest son orders widow to keep off Horizon Coaches and Mountain Gear Group

The battle for the late Charles Muhangi’s estimated Shs122 billion property is getting more and more fierce as more family members of the deceased businessman take bolder steps in their bids to gain the upper hand.

After the widow Patience Mbabazi earlier this week petitioned court for letters of administration to the deceased’s estate (arguing that there is need to have a single accountable person overseeing the property as well handling the ongoing court battles that Muhangi was involved in by the time of his death) now one of Muhangi’s eldest sons has also filed his own petition against the deceased’s widow.

Lionel Emmanuel Muhangi has through his lawyers Byenkya and Kihika Company Advocates ordered Patience Mbabazi to keep off the two companies of Horizon Coaches and Mountain Gear Group, saying the widow should immediately stop collecting money from the company because he is now the director of the two companies.

In the letter to Patience Mbabazi, which Matooke Republic has seen, Lionel Emmanuel Muhangi says that it has come to his notice that Mbabazi has been collecting money from properties that belong to Horizon Coaches and Mountain Gear Group, some of which are buildings in the city centre, and he orders the widow to immediately stop meddling in the affairs of the two companies because he is the only legal director of the two companies. Lionel also orders the widow to refund Sh60 million which she has already collected from the said properties, and he also writes to different banks where Charles Muhangi had accounts telling them not to pay any money to the widow.
