Once top-rated local diva Jackie Chandiru has been offered a job by
Makerere University Business School (Mubs) at its Career Guidance and Counseling department, to teach and sensitize students against consumption of drugs.

This was revealed by the Mubs Principal Prof. Wassawa Balunywa during the launch of the Mubs Anti-drug Use Campaign on Friday, organised by the monthly Mubs Women Forum.

Prof Balunywa said Chandiru will advise students about their careers and the futility of drug consumption. While unveiling Chandiru the principal also told the students that Ms. Chandiru had been attacked by seizures before she could talk to them, and was recovering in order to give them a first-hand piece of caution about the consequences of drugs.

“Seven years ago, this was a girl with a promising future but see what drugs have done to her. Artistes take these drugs to give them energy and courage to perform on stage but look at the long term effects on life,” Prof Balunywa warned the students.

When the former Blue3 member began to talk to the students she testified to them how drugs have ruined her life.

“For the past eight months I have been battling addiction. I urge women or students not to get into this because it has ruined my life.” Chandiru said.

She revealeds that she can nolonger wear short\-sleeved shirts or T-shirts because of the drug wounds on her arms, which have failed to heal.

The Mubs Women Forum is a special platform set up for the university’s girls to discuss their unique challenges in an open space where they can be given advice and guidance.
