Tusker Malt Conversessions continues to be the ultimate stage for raw, unfiltered artistry, and on Sunday, March 2, the legendary girl group Blu 3 graced the platform as the third act of the season.

It was an episode filled with emotion, honesty, and heartfelt reflections as Lilian Mbabazi, Cindy Sanyu, and Jackie Chandiru opened up about their journey, their past, and what the future holds for Blu 3.

The biggest revelation from the latest episode was about the breakup that left fans heartbroken years ago.

Jackie expressed that her greatest pain wasn’t the words exchanged but rather the lack of a fight to stay together. She admitted, “It was never about the words said to each other; my issue was the disintegration. We didn’t fight to stay together. I had expected so much from the group, I expected us to take over the entire world.”

Cindy Sanyu.

Cindy, on the other hand, revealed that she had once believed rumours that the group and their management were actively trying to sabotage her solo career, saying, “I had a lot of anger and I believed it, but after a couple of years, I was like no, these girls are like my sisters.” Lilian quickly reassured Cindy, “Just to reassure you, we did not have that plot.”

The trio acknowledged that their reunion concert, which began last year, reignited their bond and set them on a journey of rebuilding their relationship. While the wounds of the past may take time to fully heal, Blu 3 is determined to rekindle the sisterhood that once made them a powerhouse.

More excitingly, they have new music on the way! Lilian confirmed the news, stating, “We’ve already gone to studio. We have our single out, ‘Guma,’ but we want to record an EP.”

As part of the ‘Conversessions’, each member shared what life was like post-breakup. Jackie admitted she was initially scared and even jealous when Cindy left the group. “I became scared, that’s the truth. I was used to having backup on stage. Also, I got to a point where I didn’t have people to talk to. I was jealous, period. On a scale of 1-100, I was 65% angry.” This raw honesty was both surprising and refreshing for fans who had long speculated about the group’s dynamics after the split.

The conversation also touched on regrets. Cindy firmly stated that she had none, explaining, “Everything that has happened has led us to where we are now, and somehow, it’s all worth it. If I didn’t get out of Blu 3, this part of me would never come out.” Lilian added that looking back doesn’t help, saying, “Even Lot’s wife looked back and turned into salt. It doesn’t solve anything. However, we learn from the consequences of what we did and how we dealt with situations.” Jackie chimed in, stating, “What is better now is peace, kindness, communication, and that’s where I stand always.”

Beyond the emotional revelations, Elizabeth Mutamuliza, Head of Beer, UBL highlighted the brand’s commitment to celebrating authentic artistry and craftsmanship. “As a brand that champions craftsmanship, excellence, and the finest talent, Tusker Malt is proud to celebrate the stories behind the artists. Tusker Malt Conversessions continues to be a platform where legends share their truth, journey, passion, and craft and the Blu 3’s journey is one we are proud to have delivered to fans!’

For fans who can’t get enough of these intimate and engaging conversations, the next Conversessions episode drops on April 6th with yet another exceptional artist. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for another unforgettable deep dive into the lives of music’s finest!
