Yesterday evening, singer Eddy Kenzo came out in a social media video recording and vowed never to sing again in Uganda until he receives an official apology from Sheikh Muzaata.

“Sheikh Muzaata should bring evidence that I am gay, if he can’t then he must apologize for tarnishing my name. My world is now full of shame. I am very straight with two kids,” Kenzo said in the six minutes long video clip.

Many public figures have come out to have their say on Kenzo’s decision and among them is music promoter Balaam Barugahara, a man who organized Kenzo’s first concert.

In his social media advice statement, Balaam said Kenzo must adopt a ‘hard skin’ because allegations are part of growth in life.

“Just turn off your ears and focus on development of your talent given to you by the Lord, save and invest for your kids and dependents,” Balaam said.

Balaam advised Kenzo to stop responding to negative allegations, criticism and hate speech.

“On earth people will accuse you of unknown allegations, all sorts of unspeakable things. But the final judgment will be made by your God, nobody else but God,” he said.

On his decision of not performing in Uganda again, Balaam urged him to remain patriotic.

Eddy Kenzo.

“Uganda is your foundation and birth place remain patriotic and strong at home. Michael Jackson remained on stage in USA regardless of all accusations against him. Stand strong all storms will pass. You were born a Winner,” he said.
