Singer Catherine Kusasira has been at loggerheads with National Resistence Movement (NRM) leaders from Kampala region leaders ever since she was appointed the Presidential Advisor on Kampala issues by President Museveni.

Kusasira first declined a meeting a with NRM Chairman Kampala, Salim Uhuru where the singer claimed to be a senior to their administration and demanded for an official invite from them to attend their meeting.

“The position I have is more superior whether they want it or not. They have to formally write to me if they want me to meet them. To be a senior Presidential Advisor, it means I’m above them. They have to request me to go meet them to see how we can develop Kampala,” Kusasira said in an interview.

Kusasira’s response seems to have hit the NRM vice chairman for Kampala Godfrey Nyakana to the nerves as he vowed never to sit on the round table with Kusasira unless she changes her attitude.

Nyakana said Kusasira’s ego will be a cause for her downfall saying; “As leaders, we all need each other for the good of our party and development of ideas that can benefit Ugandans.  If she thinks she can work alone, then she is bound to fail.”

He argued that Kusasira should be given a special training and be taught on how to perform her duties.

“She needs to be taken back to school and be equipped with leadership skills,” Nyakana said.
