Man who ‘butchered’ IHK nurse Viola Kakai arrested

The police in Rwizi Region have arrested the key suspect in the murder of the International Hospital Kampala (IHK) nurse Viola Kakai.

40 year old, Shimanya Simon a teacher by profession is alleged to have hacked his wife Viola Kakai to death in front of their children.

According to the Rwizi police spokesperson ASP Samson Kasasira, Shimanya Simon was arrested on August 13, 2020 from Isingiro district where he has been hiding and was later transferred to Kampala for prosecution in courts of law.

Simon is said to have hacked his wife Kakai , a midwife at IHK  to pieces over infidelity allegations. Their neighbours in Kiteezi , Wakiso said that the couple had a fight on Saturday when the deceased was dropped home by a man yet to be identified.

The couple had three children together.
