Ministry of Health is currently isolating four foreign nationals at Entebbe Referral Hospital. They were picked up from Entebbe International Airport by the health surveillance teams after presenting with flu and cough symptoms.

The Ministry says their samples have been collected and are being tested at the Uganda Virus Research Institute.

“Results will be communicated to the public accordingly,” says the ministry in a statement.

It adds, “As of today, Uganda has no confirmed case of Coronavirus.”

The Ministry has urged Ugandans to remain very vigilant and follow the preventive measures provided by the Ministry.

Last week, Health Minister Jane Ruth Acheng provided the dos and don’ts on how to avoid the virus. Acheng said regular washing of hands with soap and water is a must.

“Cover your mouth and nose with tissue or a handkerchief when coughing and sneezing.Throw away the used tissue immediately into a dustbin or burn it and wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand rub. Maintain reasonable distance between yourself and someone who is coughing, sneezing,” Acheng said in a statement.
