Following the President’s directive to public transport proprietors to install hand washing facilities or hand sanitizers for passengers before boarding, some taxi operators have done just as instructed.

This morning, we have seen several water tanks that include soap and other disinfectants stationed at different taxi stages like Bweyogerere, Ntinda, and Nakawa.

Passengers are asked to wash their hands before boarding the taxis, because according the Ministry of Health, washing hands is one of the easiest ways we can prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

It is commendable to see that people are taking this seriously, for everyone has to be on their best health behavior if we are to guard ourselves from the coronavirus pandemic.

Currently, Uganda has not recorded any coronavirus infection but we have to stay on guard at all times because our neighbours Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Democratic Republic of Congo have all confirmed cases of the deadly virus.
