Pearl of Africa hotel, a 5-star facility keeps shrinking with its name marred in a number of scandals, the latest being a managerial crisis that has prompted the staff to lay down their tools.

The staff of the luxurious 300-room hotel situated on Nakasero Hill in Kampala are demanding a payment for their salary arrears of more than three months.

According to one of the protesters, they last received salary last year and living has become much harder in the lockdown period, with many of them lacking money to feed their families.
