As many are left wondering whether four-time Presidential aspirant Dr. Kizza Besigye’s  will contest in the forthcoming elections or rally his support behind popular People Power leader Bobi Kyagulanyi, the former Forum for Democratic Change Leader has hinted on hopes of standing for the fifth time.

While appearing on NBS today, the show host Simon Kaggwa Njala asked Besigye whether he will be on the ballot paper come 2021 and the former FDC president responded to the host that he would know very soon.

“I belong to FDC. I am not going to be an independent, How can I leave the struggle half way,” said Besigye

However Besigye later took to his social media to say that a country’s liberation can’t depend on his candidature.

“The heads (Emitwe) that confuse a country’s liberation struggle with participation, as a CANDIDATE, in a Junta-organized election, are a large part of the problem we’ve to overcome to be free,” Said Besigye

Besigye also added on that if his participation shifts people from the real problem, then it is counterproductive. He also advised that  the ballot is not the struggle. This is only useful for people who have the power to decide.
