Presidential candidate John Katumba is fast becoming a household name. The youngest presidential candidate in the history of Uganda has been trending since nomination day when he decided to abandon his vehicle and run to the nomination venue at Kyambogo University playground.

Known for his ‘Katumba Oyee’ punch line, the youthful candidate is regarded by many as a ‘distractor’ in the 2021 election claiming he’s bankrolled by the regime. However, Katumba has managed to paint a smile on thousands of faces in an intense political season. This is the main reason why his campaigns are nowadays receiving good turn-ups.

Last week, Katumba’s photos with different women made rounds on social media prompting many to pin him for losing focus on his  campaigns.

Katumba has defended his gestures saying; “I have heard that I have stopped campaigning because I am always with women. Won’t I do gender balance (taking pictures with both men and women)?”

He said that his aspirations are beyond social media rants and he’s on a serious mission of delivering  change to Ugandans.

He stated that his first actions when voted President will be tackling unemployment and promoting women empowerment.
