The only female presidential candidate in the 2021 general elections Nancy Kalembe has suspended her campaigns due to shortage of funds.

According to Kalembe, on average she spends between Shs2 million to Shs3 million on a daily basis. She said she has run short of the much needed funds to enable her to meet costs of fuel, accommodation, feeding as traversed the remaining districts.

She urged change-loving Ugandans and well-wishers to contribute to the cause.

“We halted our campaigns last Thursday because we lacked funds and our cars had broken down. I am requesting members of the public and well-wishers to contribute either through the bank, mobile money (0787820101) or any other avenue so that we are able to complete our campaigns,” Kalembe said.

She apologised to the residents of Western Uganda for failing to come to the area for campaigns.

Last month during the nomination process for Presidential candidates Kalembe was turned away by the Electoral Commission after she failed to show evidence of payment for the requisite Shs20 million. She was registered the following day.
