Presidential flag bearer for Renewed Uganda pressure group, Gen. Henry Tumukunde has said that he’s very sure that no candidate will get the mandated 51% to take up the country’s top office in this week’s general election.

Tumukunde said that he’ s not expecting  free and fair elections but he will not tolerate form of vote rigging by the incumbent President Yoweri Museveni. He refuted being behind the past incidents of vote rigging in favour of Museveni.

“I have never rallied behind Museveni to rig. I have only campaigned and supported him. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t know how rigging is done,” Tumukunde said.

“I won’t tell you how I will secure my votes. All I can tell you is that we are working with other opposition leaders,” he added.

He claimed that he’s the most exposed amongst the eleven candidates and he deserves to be backed up if they are to field a joint opposition candidate.

“The candidate who comes on top, we shall support. I believe if I am on top of the 11, let everybody rally behind me,” he said.
