COVID-19: Uganda’s new cases drop to 70, registers 11 deaths and over 1000 recoveries

The ministry of health has today reported 71 new COVID-19 cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are now 92,795.

The breakdown of the new cases are; 69 Contacts and Alerts: Kagadi (7) Bulambuli (7) Kampala (23) Hoima (5) Tororo (4) Katakwi (4) Butaleja (2) Pallisa (3) Kumi (2) Oyam (2) Mityana (1) Iganga (1)Terego (1) Kakumiro (1) Wakiso (4)Bukwo (1)Soroti (1)

Good news from the Health Ministry data indicates that more 1,224 people have recovered from the deadly virus in a single day. The total recoveries now stand at 78,415. The positivity rate is now at 6.6%.

To date, 2,590 people have succumbed to the virus in Uganda as the ministry has today reported 11 more deaths.

Meanwhile, the Minister for Health, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng will address the country today on Tuesday at 11:00am to provide an update on measures to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.

And on Saturday July 31, President Museveni will give an update on whether to ease lockdown or add more days as the 42 days will have elapsed.
