The National Unity Platform leader Kyagulanyi Robert Sentamu alias Bobi Wine has this evening addressed his supporters via his various social media platforms. Bobi Wine said that the police and military that camped at his home for the past week have failed to explain why they’re surrounding his residence.

He said that they have however asked him to make an address and stop his supporters from protesting, something which he turned down.

“I was reached out by police to stop Ugandans from protesting. But I have no right to stop Ugandans from protesting against the regime’s impunity,” Bobi Wine said.

On Monday, Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said that the security forces had asked Bobi Wine to denounce any acts of violence from his supporters before he can be let free of the ‘house arrest.’

On the just concluded presidential elections, Bobi Wine said that as NUP they have rejected whatever was declared by Justice Simon Byabakama.

“We know it was all Mr. Museveni’s forgery. We have all the evidence and it will be revealed when the right time comes,” he said.

The NUP presidential candidate disclosed that several political players have reached out to him advising not go to court because it’s also another way of confirming Museveni’s new term.

He stated that the party is still in discussions of their next move which will be soon announced to the public.
