In the recently concluded elections, Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi failed to defend his Bukoto Central Constituency seat for the sixth time after losing the seat to newcomer Richard Ssebalama. Ssekandi concedes defeat but he’s still assured that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party is in convincing command of the national politics.

While addressing the NRM leaders from Masaka district who convened at his home in Bulegeya, Kyanamukaka Sub County, Ssekandi said that the election of 316 NRM party Members of Parliament manifest that it’s the most trusted mass party in Uganda.

Ssekandi said that though NRM has a series of challenges to address when it comes to service delivery, it has achieved a lot in the past 35 years.
