President Yoweri Museveni has said that he will use his granted powers to cause the freeing of opposition supporters jailed since November.

Speaking during the IPOD Summit meeting held yesterday at Kololo, Museveni said that government is set to compensate 51 suspects under army custody as some were arrested on false information hence should be unconditionally released.

“I will ask the DPP to review the charges and organize a soft landing for some of the suspects in security detention because they have helped us to learn the schemes of their misleaders,” said Museveni.
