Police arrests human trafficker who sold children for over 20 years at Shs49 million each

Police at Elegu border has arrested a 44-year-old Bakaki Yunusu alias Kabbu who has been on a wanted list of serial child abductors and traffickers in the country.

Kabbu was arrested on Saturday from his hideout home at Lorikwo West Cell during a joint intelligence-led operation by security personnel.

Charles Twiine, the spokesperson of the Criminal Investigation Department, Kabbu has for years been behind several alleged kidnaps and Trafficking.

He said his arrest follows a video clip that has gone viral on social media in which he openly admitted to a BBC reporter that he has been illegally trafficking children from Uganda overseas for over 20 years for 10,000 Pounds, an equivalent of Shs49 million.

Twiine revealed that he will be transferred to the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Desk in Kampala for further investigations.
