Okwi named Uganda Cranes captain

Uganda Cranes Head Coach Abdallah Mubiru has today named a 34 man squad for the International friendly match against South Africa National team Bafana Bafana slated for June 10 2021.

The squad features a lot of local players and those that were part of Uganda Hippos that reached the AFCON U20 final.

Experienced striker Okwi Emannuel who plays for Egyptian side Ittihad Alexandria FC has been named the new Uganda Cranes Captain and will lead the Cranes against Bafana Bafana. He has been on the team for more than six years and is one of the highest scoring players on the national team.

The team will enter camp on Sunday morning May 30 2021 at 8am. They will camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi. Training starts on Monday May 31 2021 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
