Opening day of Guinness 7s produces thrilling action

The opening day of the Guinness 7s has produced some thrilling Sevens action, as the teams went head-to-head at the Mileke Circuit hosted by the Warriors at Legends Rugby grounds in Lugogo.

The big three (Betway Kobs, Black Pirates, and Heathens) have once again proven to be the real title contenders for this year’s Guinness 7s.

They have all managed to start on a high and also maintained winning streaks on Day one after each side playing three games on the day.

Heathens came out strongest in all its three ties against Pacers, Rhinos, and Hippos as it won 66-0, 41-0, and 17-12 respectively.

Similarly, Kobs also got flying on the day beating Jiengo 55 – 0, got Rams out of the way with a 24-07 win, and ending the day with a commanding 46-00 against hosts Warriors.

Pirates also sailed through the day’s waves beating Jaguars 49- 0 in the first round of the series before whitewashing Sailors 45-00 in the second round and again finished strong against Impis as they won 20-00.

The three have all made it to the quarterfinals set to take place tomorrow on Sunday, October 3 at Legends

-Buffaloes Vs Warriors
-Pirates Vs Hippos
