On Saturday, Cheptegei was introduced by his baby mama Carol Yeko Kamari in a traditional marriage called Koiyetyo. The Koiyetyo was held in Cheminy, Kween District.

The event was graced by various notable figures especially from the world of athletics. Among them included; Stephen Kiprotich, Jacob Kiplimo, and Kenya’s renowned star David Rushiha among others.

Following the glamorous ceremony, we can authoritatively reveal to you that for the first time, Cheptegei will be flying with his family to a competitive event in the Netherlands.

Chepetegei is set to run again at the 7hills Nijmegen, Netherlands on November 21. He made his debut at the event in 2016 and he won.

Unlike the previous years where he traveled alone, this time the World champion will be accompanied by his family.

“My family is very close to me and I think it will even boost my performance knowing my greatest inspiration is in the town,” said Cheptegei.

“I must win the race so that we go on holiday with happy faces,” he added.
